1. Use simple words when you explain why masks are necessary.
2. Have an honest discussion about what masks do for them, and for those close to them.
3. Let them ask questions about masks to help them get used to the idea at their own pace.
4. Demonstrate how to put it on properly and how to remove or dispose of it after use. Wear one yourself so they have an example to follow.
