PHILUSA #KeepsItCleene with the Manila Water Foundation for Global Handwashing Day 2023
PHILUSA Corporation, through its heritage brand Cleene, joined the Manila Water Foundation and the City Government of Pasig on October 9 in kickstarting the 2023 Global Handwashing Day (GHD) with the theme, “Clean Hands are Within Reach.” The program was graced by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Vice Mayor Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr., and the officials from the local government of Pasig City.
The annual celebration of GHD signifies a steadfast commitment to raising awareness about the life-saving benefits of habitual handwashing, promoting community collaboration, and ensuring access to clean water and sanitation for all.
Under the banner of “Apir Tayo, Pasigueno GHD 2023,” this year’s celebration holds special significance as it unfolds in the heart of Pasig City, the home city of PHILUSA Corporation. A ceremonial handwashing activity was conducted after the Pasig City’s flag ceremony to showcase the proper ways and methods of washing hands. The campaign amplifies the importance of proper hygiene to secure public health in local communities and underscores the profound impact that can be achieved when organizations align their goals with the needs of the people they serve.
“It’s crucial to instill the habit of handwashing hindi lang ngayong Global Handwashing Day pero sa pang araw-araw. Make it a part of your routine and help us in this advocacy by educating your children, relatives, friends, and colleagues about proper handwashing. Patuloy tayong magtulungan para sa isang malusog at masiglang komunidad,” PHILUSA’s President and General Manager, Neogin Evangelista, shared in his message to Pasigueños.
Through the continuous partnership of PHILUSA Corporation and the Manila Water Foundation, assorted Cleene hygiene products will be provided to sectoral representatives from DSWD 4Ps, Muslim community, Catholic community, transport groups, medical frontliners, and the persons with disabilities. PHILUSA Corporation also extends its outreach to several WASH programs in Quezon City, Cavite, Batangas, and Bulacan.
The significance of handwashing transcends borders and cultures. In an era when global health challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic have brought hygiene practices to the forefront, Global Handwashing Day takes on even greater significance. The simple act of washing our hands can help build a healthier, more resilient Philippines.
