Baguio City’s Burnham Park Football Field was bustling with activity on May 12th as more than 2,000 individuals gathered for the Walk for Non-Communicable Diseases Awareness (WNCDA) 2024, a community-driven event aimed at raising awareness about non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Led by the Mercury Drug Foundation, the walk saw participants of all ages and backgrounds come together to support the fight against NCDs and promote healthier living. The 3km loop around the park provided an opportunity for both exercise and education, with participants receiving red, yellow, and white ribbon bracelets at each kilometer mark to signify their progress.
The event was attended by esteemed executives of the Mercury Drug Corporation, including Mrs. Alice Lumanog, Vice President; Ms. Cora Lim, Vice President for Merchandising; Atty. Joy Anne Marie Garcia, Legal Director; as well as Ms. Annie Fuentes, President of the Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc.; Ms. Adette Dizon, Program Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility; and Mr. Ronaldo Rañada, President of the Regional Corporation.
PHILUSA Corporation, a subsidiary of the Mercury Drug Group, supported the annual campaign through its trusted heritage brands Cleene, Babyflo, and RHEA. At the company’s booths, participants were treated to a wide range of personal care and wellness products, such as Love My Honey, Cleene Clio Toothbrushes, Cleene Antibacterial Wipes, Babyflo Baby Wipes, Babyflo Baby Cologne, RHEA Isopropyl Alcohol, RHEA Superscent Oil, and a RHEA Generics Fan Merch.
Adding an element of fun and excitement to the event was Perry the Penguin, one of the mascots from the Babyflo Buddies lineup. Perry’s playful antics and infectious energy brought smiles to faces young and old, reinforcing the message that promoting health can be an enjoyable and inclusive effort.
In addition to the festivities, RHEA Generics also took the opportunity to sponsor a wellness talk, inviting Dr. Aliza Castro to share insights on disease prevention and healthy living. The informative session empowered participants with practical knowledge and tips to safeguard their health and well-being, stressing the importance of proactive healthcare measures.
The delegation of PHILUSA Corporation, comprised of employees from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Demand Planning, and members of the La Union Branch, was led by its President and General Manager, Mr. Neogin Evangelista.
